Market Entry Plan For A Vietnamese Industrial Company : case: European Plastic Joint Stock Company

    Get PDF
The chemical and plastic industries have been hailed as the saviors for many economies in their current economic downturns. Despite the global recession, the plastic industry still shows its attractive opportunities in both output market and material market. Realizing the promising opportunity of plastic materials trading between the EU and Vietnam, the authors proposed an exploratory market research to a Vietnamese plastic masterbatch manufacturer with Finland as the pilot target market. The main objective of this paper is to assist the case company to decide whether Finland should be in its export market list. The authors, in the interests of the case company, designed their thesis as a market entry plan, which is the step-by-step guide of the case company through most trading barriers so as to reach the customers in the target market without making any tactical mistake. The writers also directed their focus towards the company’s competitive advantages, the market profitability and other influencing factors of the market entry process. Precisely, this work involves: the internal analysis of the case company, in which both its strengths and weaknesses are analyzed; the external analysis of the target market Finland, from which the case company can find its opportunities and also threats in a new environment; and finally the market entry strategies for exporting plastic masterbatch to Finland. There are several revealing findings in the thesis. Firstly, the Finnish plastic market, thanks to its high growth rate and competition, shows a certain amount of attractiveness to the case company, though it is not an appealing choice at the moment. Secondly, despite some legal issues, the case company can easily join the material distribution network by partnering up with the appropriate local distributors. Finally, the most important outcome is a sound set of strategic recommendations for the case company to perfect itself from the inside out

Buckling and postbuckling of CNT-reinforced composite sandwich cylindrical panels subjected to axial compression in thermal environments

    Get PDF
An analytical investigation on the buckling and postbuckling behavior of carbon nanotube reinforced composite (CNTRC) sandwich cylindrical panels exposed to thermal environments and subjected to uniform axial compression is presented in this paper. Beside sandwich model with CNTRC face sheets in the literature, the present work suggests a sandwich model with CNTRC core layer and homogeneous face sheets. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are reinforced into matrix phase through uniform or functionally graded distributions. Effective properties of nanocomposite layers are determined according to extended rule of mixture. Formulations are based on the first order shear deformation theory taking into account Von Karman-Donnell nonlinearity. Approximate solutions are assumed to satisfy simply supported boundary conditions and Galerkin method is used to derive the closed-form expression of nonlinear load-deflection relation from which buckling loads and postbuckling paths are determined. Numerical examples are carried out and interesting remarks are given

COSMETIC CONSUMPTION TRENDS OF VIETNAMESE YOUNG PEOPLE – A CASE STUDY OF HIGH SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN HANOI

Our beauty demands are significantly increasing with the rapid development of the Global Economy. The use of cosmetic products has become prevalent among Vietnamese youth. In this article, the research team concentrates on collecting and analyzing data on cosmetics consumer trends of Vietnamese teenagers - research of high school and university students in Hanoi. The research yields some important results: Young people are becoming more interested in natural and time-saving trends toward beauty. The top concerns in using cosmetic products are skincare, haircare, and body odor. Make-up is also catching teenagers’ attention, but the number of young people frequently doing makeup is inconsiderable, mainly due to the lack of knowledge, interest, and time for this field. In addition, the use of cosmetic products is mostly influenced by personal preferences, opinions of friends/relatives, and cultural tastes. The purchase of cosmetic products is driven by prices, brand names, and ingredients. Adolescents also tend to use some healthy products, such as cosmeceutical or vegan ones, to overcome the problems of unclear origins or irritating ingredients. Besides, high school and university students have low financial capacities; therefore, their money spent on cosmetic products is not too high, and the number of cosmetic products owned is not too many. Finally, the improvement of technology has led to two trends among teenagers: the convenience of cosmetic-related information searching and the widespread presence of shopping through e-commerce platforms

A Prototype of Automated Chayote Peeling Machine

Fruit peeling seems a simple performance, but it is the consist of many elements such as the peeler, the way we grasp and move the blade and cutting speed, etc. - all these factors play a role, and interact with each other. This paper describes the prototype of a chayote peeling machine. The machine has been designed with a simple and low-cost approach. To improve chayote peeling rate and ensure pulp quality, a proposed structure was designed, manufactured and tested in laboratory. The experimental results are examined to demonstrate the efficiency of the peeling machine. It proves that the proposed machine could be widely applied in the fruit peeling technology

On the Interference Alignment Designs for Secure Multiuser MIMO Systems

In this paper, we propose two secure multiuser multiple-input multiple-output transmission approaches based on interference alignment (IA) in the presence of an eavesdropper. To deal with the information leakage to the eavesdropper as well as the interference signals from undesired transmitters (Txs) at desired receivers (Rxs), our approaches aim to design the transmit precoding and receive subspace matrices to minimize both the total inter-main-link interference and the wiretapped signals (WSs). The first proposed IA scheme focuses on aligning the WSs into proper subspaces while the second one imposes a new structure on the precoding matrices to force the WSs to zero. When the channel state information is perfectly known at all Txs, in each proposed IA scheme, the precoding matrices at Txs and the receive subspaces at Rxs or the eavesdropper are alternatively selected to minimize the cost function of an convex optimization problem for every iteration. We provide the feasible conditions and the proofs of convergence for both IA approaches. The simulation results indicate that our two IA approaches outperform the conventional IA algorithm in terms of average secrecy sum rate.Comment: Updated version, updated author list, accepted to be appear in IEICE Transaction
